Dr. Michelle Moore completed her undergraduate work at Penn State University where she majored in both Life Science and Spanish. She obtained her M.A. in Communication Sciences from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, before completing her Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Moore joined the WVU faculty in 2012. Her recent research projects have focused on 1) the organization and use of phonological knowledge, and 2) the functional role of the visual word form area (VWFA), a left-hemisphere brain region that is known to be associated with reading and reading impairment. To study these topics, Dr. Moore has employed basic behavioral, neuroimaging, and neuropsychological experimental techniques.
